“The Cerulean Rendezvous” is a mosaic placed on the entrance wall of a villa in Beverly Hills, California. It was my first time working with a scale this big, but it was very challenging. I used, only for the face’s skin color, more then 19 different tan colors, and some of the pieces where around 1 mm in size to give more detail to the eyes. The piece is a scene of an Arabic woman walking by a waterfall. My daughter created the name, “Cerulean Rendezvous,” when I told her the old stories of couples meeting secretly near creeks and streams when they were supposed to be bringing water back to their homes. |
